We’ve all seen or heard about the antics and lengths people go to in looking for the afterlife. Whether it’s using scientific methods or something more of a spiritual nature, there’s quite a few different ways of looking into this mystical side of life.
One thing’s for sure however, there are nearly no friendly ghosts and with Halloween just around the corner, it’s time for you to spook or be spooked – so I plum for spooking! To help play a practical joke on your friends you should certainly give Ghost Sensor a go as it’s actually quite haunting, literally!
The application claims ‘The Ghost Sensor enables your mobile phone to detect paranormal activity. Scare your friends and find ghosts that are all around us’.
What you do is load up the application on your phone and you have a menu screen. Pressing the activate button and you’ll turn your mobile into an electronic ghost detector. The scanner proceeds to scan the area ahead of you, and by moving around the room or house you’ll actually be sucked into it. Sure enough, the sensor starts picking up some mysterious activity and a ‘blip’ appears on the radar which causes it to vibrate (using the vibration function of the phone). Within moments of the blip appearing, you’ll find the ‘blip’ move towards you and suddenly if that hasn’t managed to put the tingles down your spine… the image of a ghostly apparition appears on the screen along with a scream!
By going to the options menu you can tweak the ‘ghost’ image you’ll see (there are three) or you can set it to randomly select from the images. You can also change the time it takes for the ‘ghost’ to appear from 5, 15, 30, 60 seconds or random.
Naturally, this is a great little package for you to use if you want to get stuck into the paranormal scene. It’s fairly safe to say that this sort of software’s not highly used by professionals like parapsychologists, but nonetheless it’s a great way of getting your little brother or sister to leave you alone or to unnerve your friends or family.
The programme would have benefited from the option of installing your own images for it to use as a scary picture of the ‘ghost’, but the ones they use are good enough to get anyone to jump first time round. With the timing setting able to be changed, you can indeed end up scaring yourself or others even more as it’s more unpredictable when set to ‘random’.
So turn the lights off, get all your friends to gather round as you go exploring your house, your back garden or anywhere else you care to imagine, and watch them flee in terror as the application scares them.
