Zombie Flick – Negotiate with extreme prejudice... and anything you can get your hands on!
For mindless violence look no further than this game. The aim is simple, knock the advancing zombies blocks (heads) off using random objects at your disposal.
Everything goes, from records and bricks to baseballs. Use your gesture control to flick your object at the head of the zombie. If you get it right, the zombie will fall down dead with its head no longer attached. If you hit the zombie but not in a direct hit, they’ll fall to the floor and crawl towards you (meaning you will need to do it right this time).
You get points for bashing the heads off the zombies, and even more points for a multiple strike (decapitating more than one monster at a time with just the one object). To do this it’s best to ricochet the ammo you have off the wall and watch the heads roll. Ultimately, the best way to describe this game is a rather sinister version of 10-pin bowling.
Being offensive is important, but it’s also good to be aware of your defences too. As you have to fight back the waves of advancing undead on four fronts. To turn around you must tap the edge of the screen either left or right. To access the defences, you must tap the little spanner tab, where you then see the barriers which you must tap frantically to restore to 100%. Just remember, whilst you’re repairing your defences you can’t be hurling things at the zombies – so be sure to get the balance right.
The coolest thing about this game is getting to watch everything in slow motion if you manage to score enough points and do enough damage. This means you can watch all the action in super slow motion for a short period of time.
To be fair, this game is highly repetitive and a little one dimensional and did become a little tiresome after the hundredth time of chucking stuff at zombies. There were a few things such as running zombies which cause you to have to move faster. But with the zombies generally walking slowly, you could almost stick a brew on whilst you play and clear the level. Of course, the harder levels did get more challenging, but this only caused my fingers to get something close to repetitive strain injury!
Nonetheless, this game will certainly appeal to anyone with a thing for killing zombies and with it being Halloween shortly, it will probably get a whole lot spookier!
Rating 66%
Positives
Lots of zombies to do in
Quite atmospheric
Tongue in cheek humour and just a little dark of course
Negatives
Very repetitive
Getting really high scores and multi-killings does depend on luck as much as skill
Not much variety
