Space Box – In space no-one can hear you scream... just remember you’re not in space!
Right, where to begin here... You are in control of a box who you must help jump from platform to platform over, through and under every obstacle as you make your way round the course.
The words ‘boxing clever’ spring to mind when playing this particular title. The cute cube is rather dependant on you and your judgement, guesswork, skill and fortune – just how much of each of these skills will depend on you and your luck.
Controls are straightforward enough. You tap the box and drag your finger in the direction that you want your box to jump. The bigger the arrow the further it’ll move and visa versa. To activate the jump, tap the jump button in the bottom right hand corner. If you make a mistake and need to adjust the angle or power of your leap then tap the box again and try again until you’re happy.
You have to be careful with the number of jumps you take as you only have a limited number of leaps available to successfully complete the stage and move onto the next level. Another thing to watch out for is that you only have a limited number of lives too and as you are set in space and can quite easily over-shoot or under-cook your jump, it can be a long way down!
Although this is a pretty simple game it is no less addictive and in fact makes me think of all the more classic retro games which were frustratingly simple and yet so easy to fluff up. Unlike some of the more stylised and usual titles that you can find, this is actually a bit of a genius find and certainly good to not just kill time but also a few hundred or so boxes (if they can die in space?!).
This is a really addictive game which keeps you playing over and over again and even once you’ve managed to scrape your way through to the final level, it’s safe to say you’ll probably want to try and do a better job and play the game again and again. As every stage is more devious than the last, it will push your skills to their limit.
Ultimately, if you want to save boxes (which is a good thing in this environmentally friendly day) or just love to outsmart the devious so-and-so who made this tricky game, then it’s definitely worth a punt. Besides, you can’t go too wrong with something so cheap neither and in fairness, I’ve paid a lot more for a lot worse!

Addictive
Simple fun
Classic game for a classic gamer
Negatives
Frustrating and could cause you to throw your iPod in irritation if you’re not careful
Getting the angle right is difficult as you can’t always see where it is and need to re-set it quite a few times before you’re happy
Being able to zoom out to look at the course or getting power ups could spice it up
