Are you curious about your sexuality? Well if so, then perhaps the Gay or Straight application could be just what you needed to answer your question.
Well, perhaps this is only to be used in jest rather than as gospel truth as it doesn’t appear to give you a true and accurate result, so in truth, if you’re at all in any doubt or uncertain, please seek professional advice.
Serious bit over with, this application basically works by having you input your name and then selecting whether you’re male or female. After you have done this you are instructed to press the select key or softkey and hold it whilst it shows you images in the next part of the test. It needs you to do this so it can measure your heartbeat and give you a reading from these ‘findings’. Then it will show you a picture of a muscled Adonis and a rather tarty woman for it to then test your pulse. After doing that, it gives you the results which will no doubt ‘prove’ your sexuality with a percentage of how ‘gay’ you are.
I took the test several times and it gave me a different result every instance, but for example, one of my tests said “80% you’re pretty gay – have you told anyone else about this?” From my experience, whether you are or whether you’re not, it’s not really anyone’s business to know such private details.
I’m sure there’s going to be a few guys and girls out there amongst us who’ll do this test for fun at a slumber party or whatever which will raise a bit of a laugh and that’s the only real occasion I can think of where you’d share this with others. Without sounding prudish either, it would be advisable due to the nature of the programme and images, that this should not be used by those under the age of 18 years.
Overall then, this is ideal for a prank or practical joke, or alternatively as a useful way of broaching a sensitive subject with others. In either case, make sure you don’t take the findings to heart.
Rating 50%
Positives
Could be used to get people thinking about their orientation
Great way to have a prank with your friends (although there’s no apparent way to ‘fix’ results)
Negatives
It’s a mature theme so perhaps should be handled with care
If you take the findings seriously, it could lead you to complications and affect you and others around you
Could have been done better by asking you questions to give you a more scientific answer
