Spore Creatures

It’s not very often a person can get to talk about evolution particularly in the sense of a game. Some games do evolve in terms of the original and the second incarnation of the title; however, this is exactly what Spore Creatures manages to do.
This game picks up directly after where Spore Origins had finished, and, as you might have expected, this game’s an improvement, if not slightly different. Gone are the battles between your creature and other players’ which had been a little problematic for the original version of the game (particularly when you can’t find someone else with the game on their device. Instead, you will become immersed in a more RPG style game adventure.
The idea behind the game is for you to explore the world and carefully start to evolve your spore into a bigger, better, faster, stronger creature. By looking around the levels you’ll be able to find and make use of the plants and animals you encounter to improve your evolution.
One of the core elements of the game is the fact that you can develop your spore, not just at the beginning, but throughout. This is a huge relief from the usual game option of picking a male or female character and possibly getting to choose the skin or hair colour. True to form, this game lets you pick and define your spore from a variety of eyes, bodies, legs, feet and beyond – giving you an almost unlimited possibility of creature combos. Additionally, as you play and accomplish tasks, you’ll be rewarded by getting more parts to use in evolving your spore.
Again, this rather rudimentary element allows you to unlock more and more features within the game. Say, for example, a basic spore at the beginning will struggle in moving around and interacting with some areas of the environment. However, when you improve your character you’ll be able to overcome the obstacles and get to play more levels and then evolve your spore even further.
As for challenges within the game, you must use your rhythmical skills to pacify or even make friends with other creatures you encounter. Sometimes, sadly, the world can be quite a cruel place, so it’s important to ensure your creature’s equipped to handle any other creature you come up against. This takes the shape of both offensive and defensive capabilities which you can pick and choose.
Overall then, this game’s a great for those who like to play God and modify and personalise your character. There’s plenty of challenges to keep you busy and by unlocking and using the skills and abilities as well as the more evolved body parts, you’ll get to appreciate a more layered and thoroughly enjoyable game.
