Tekken Mobile

Tekken Mobile – Fast paced combos a plenty

Tekken has arguably been one of the most successful fighting games to grace arcades and home consoles for over a decade. Undeniably more graphic and less cartoonish than some of its counterparts, this title is not going to release its choke-hold on the scene... but how does it transfer to the mobile?
Well, actually... not too bad! Obviously you can’t quite compare it to its more powerful versions as the mobile technology is certainly unable to compete to this, but when pitted against Street Fighter and other mobile beat-‘em-ups then you will be certainly left pretty impressed.
All the familiar names put in an appearance in this streamlined version, starting with Jin and Xiaoyu which you get to play with and defeat the likes of Paul, Law, King, Nina, Kazuya and Yoshimitsu. As anyone who’s played this game, each of these fighters have their own personal story and fighting style. Some are wrestlers, others fight with more speed and finesse, but all are more than capable at knocking any opponent down and out for the count.
If you thought this game would be not much more than a simple duel then you’ll be in for a pleasant surprise. This game does of course have the regular arcade version but there are quite a few variations on a theme, such as story mode, practice, Tekken force mode and custom mode. As you progress through this game you will get to unlock players and outfits and all the battle modes which gives the game a much more entertaining and rewarding experience and adds to the overall appeal. Another thing that will probably appeal to just about any gamer out there, is that rather than simply playing against the rather static and predictable AI, you can compete against another human player via Bluetooth. For me, this makes the game step firmly out of the mundane and into the worthy of recognition category. This sort of game is designed for friends to have competitive battles and pushing their luck and skill to the limit.
Ultimately, this game has a lot to live up to and although it’s not got the same quality graphics of the console versions, this is definitely a really good effort and certainly entertaining by its own but even more with friends! I feel the only shortcoming this title has is it’s all too easy to beat the computer through simply repeatedly pressing certain keys. But, if you want to win with grace rather than force then this will indeed challenge you a lot more. Achieving the ‘Perfect’ round is quite a challenge if you fail to block and if you lose your footing, it’s very costly to your health.
