Fire Girl

Does anyone remember the song which had the lyrics “The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire!”? Well if you do, then it will have some relevance to this particular game.
Fire Girl consists of you trying to find the right pieces of pipe to connect the hydrant to the nozzle. The screen displays the five next pipes and a cursor shows the water position. Co can start the water stream just when you are ready to save time and gain you more points – the one thing to remember however is not to get to hasty, otherwise the roof won’t be saved and your floor will end up flooded instead!
In classic mode, you have only 60 seconds to make your pipe network using a minimal number of pipe. In survival mode, you start with 60 seconds, but with every level you go up, you lose five seconds from your clock. In this particular mode every piece of pipe you use also costs you one second. In the last crazy mode, you aren’t limited with the time, but you need to use all the pipes available to solve the network and progress to the next level.
To play the game you must use the keypad or d-pad to move the cursor around the screen. Once you’ve selected the appropriate square you can position the pipe by pressing the OK or 5 button. You can cycle your way through all the pipe options available to you by repeatedly pressing the same key until you’re happy with the selection. To activate the water simply press the left softkey and to pause the game, press the right.
If I was to say there was any small problem with this game, it’s the rotating through the possible pipes available for you to use within the allocated timeframe. I know that this is all part of the game but there’s unfortunately no way to go backwards through the selection should you be too keen with your repetitive key presses. This means that you have to be at the top of your game to ensure you save valuable time or gain even more points.
Ultimately this game though gives you a great combination of frantic and frenzied fun but neatly bundled up in a hugely addictive and fun puzzle.

Rating 76%

Positives
Highly addictive and simple enough for all to enjoy
Three game modes to keep the game refreshing

Negatives
Controls could be a touch more responsive, particularly with cycling through the pipe options
Other than the three different game modes, there’s no other difficulty setting option
