Yield

Yield - The green cross code’s got nothing on this!

If you were confused about what all the road signs mean then this probably won’t help a great deal. But if you can work out when to go, when to stop and make the use of the odd power-up you can collect along the way then you will probably like this entertaining, if not infuriating driving game.
Essentially what you have is a crossroads, the one across has right of way, meaning you have to yield to these drivers and only try and cross over this junction when it’s safe to do so. In the more basic levels you have to only cross a single lane of traffic, but as things progress the number of lanes, variety of vehicle and other such challenging obstacles come into play. In brief, you must get the target amount of vehicles safely across without running out of time or having an accident – otherwise you have to start that level all over again.
As you can probably imagine, vehicles come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Some, like the sports car are fast and small (and highly explosive – more on this later), others like the tractor are slow juggernauts of the road and lorries, well they are both slow and big.
If you think a little along the lines of the game ‘Frogger’ you will have a bit of an idea about this game. Rather than having to hop onto lily pads, you just have to avoid hitting or being hit by other traffic or you could end up with a crumpled mess of metal, or even an impressive flambé sports car and crispy driver.
In essence it becomes a bit of a juggling act as to when to cross or not to cross. Power-ups work in a number of ways, for example the stop sign gives you right of way and causes the other traffic to stop – allowing you to get more vehicles from one side to the other in the allotted time. The stop watch will give you more time to try and get your vehicles over and the heart symbol gives you the grace of one accident without costing you the game.
This is simple, entertaining and actually a little dare I say, educational! If you enjoy your retro classic type of game then this will certainly be right up your street (pardon the pun), and if you enjoy a little logic and puzzle solving, again this will hopefully keep you entertained for a bit. If however you like your racing games then you might thing this is a little less entertaining but it’s a good little title that keeps you glued to the screen and chuckling whenever you watch the accidents happen!
