Pigeon Squadron

Pigeon Squadron – This brings a new meaning to bird strike!

This game is genius, twisted and thoroughly entertaining. Pigeon Squadron lets you take control of a plucky pigeon flying over the unsuspecting pedestrians, wildlife and traffic of various cities below. The object of the game is as simple as it comes... hit everything you find with your rather limitless stockpile of bird poo.
You get points for every person, animal and vehicle you strike. More points are rewarded for multiple strikes and not missing (breaking the chain) and hitting specific targets.
Flying is a simple enough task in this top-down bomber style game. Tilting the handset to the left or right will cause your bird to bank to the left or right. Tilting the handset downwards (towards you) slows your bird down and tilting the handset in the opposite direction will cause you to fly faster.
All of the missions are timed and as you progress you will find it more challenging to hit enough targets or strike the primary target(s). What you must try to do is locate your victim and circle overhead dropping your ‘bomb’ on them. Moving targets are quite awkward to strike and may take a few attempts until you’re satisfied. The static targets also pose quite a challenge as you have to judge your flight path and adjust it accordingly to ensure you get a good shot.
As you hit targets you will upset them and they will hurl just about anything at you to bring you down. Tennis players will use balls, old dears will hurl walking sticks, hats and even food at you. The objects that can hurt you are outlined in red and the items which are good for you (e.g. food) are outlined in green. Both of these types of objects are only available for so long and will cause you to twist and turn quite franticly trying to avoid the bad and gather the good – which makes for some high flying antics.
The game’s brilliantly simple and for this reason it makes it highly addictive and very entertaining. The challenges get more and more rugged and tricky for you to accomplish but by exploring the level and being lucky you may just find some great power ups which will keep you entertained and everyone on the ground running for cover!
It may be advisable to knock off the music as although it does remind me of the classic Battle of Britain scores, after a while it does get a little repetitive and some variance (even using your own music) would have been a nice touch.
On the hole this is very amusing and will no doubt appeal to most boys and possibly the darker side of human nature in general.

Wicked and entertaining
Plenty of challenging levels
Power-ups and nice graphics add to the appeal

Negatives
Repetitive
Not much variety and doesn’t really go beyond the basic twisted humour
Music gets irritating (but can be switched off)
