Have you been plagued with doubt and indecision? Are you in need of some reassurance or guidance but don’t know who to ask for some advice? Well if so, Decision Maker could well be the answer you’ve been seeking!
For those of you who have played with a ‘magic 8 ball’ or other such novelties which give you mystical and enigmatic answers that offer you a little more than a simple ‘yes or no’ answer, you’ll probably feel like you’ve seen something like this before, and that’s no real bad thing either.
You start with an option to ask a question, but should you wish to keep this in your head rather than say it out loud, that’s totally up to you. Pressing the left softkey or select button you’ll be able to activate this programme and by pressing it again to ‘shake it’, you’ll be presented with a rather pretty graphic of the ball being shaken and then your answer will swiftly follow.
In fairness I found the answers pretty disjointed. For example, when I would ask a straight forward question, I would get some quirky answers like ‘yezz’, ‘be a timesaver’ and ‘chins up’, which sometimes would answer the question and on other occasions make little or no sense at all.
On the plus side however, with so many different answers, I found myself repeatedly asking the same and different questions at random to try and get some answers to life’s little problems or big decisions and impressively, I didn’t experience a same answer once!
If you’ve grown tired of asking questions and seeking answers then you can enjoy some words of wisdom by reading the famous quotes of a variety of well known people of politics, literature and philosophers. These poignant and very deep words of wisdom do certainly offer some quips or indeed moments of reflection or clarity. Personally I would have liked to have seen one or two female or even religious excerpts to mull over to just add a slightly new dimension to these quotes and answers, but again, this isn’t a huge issue, and what you do get is still good.
I was impressed by the music which plays almost like a lullaby in the background and did add to the overall sense that the answers you were getting were much more appropriate and thought provoking than you may have initially perceived.
Overall then this is a well presented and neatly rounded application which brings your mobile phone to life. I would have liked to have been able to use the motion control on my C905 handset to ‘shake’ the ball to add some additional randomness to the mix, but the appearance, answers and sounds are very solid and arguably as near to perfect as you could hope for.
