The Adventures of Ana and Baby Cat in the Jungles of Borneo

The Adventures of Ana and Baby Cat in the Jungles of Borneo is a cute and simple banana slinging fun game which will keep you entertained for a little while.
Starting off with an opening sequence where your beloved (if not slightly unimaginatively named) Baby Cat is kidnapped by some cheeky chimps in exchange for some bananas. You then start the game proper playing as Ana hanging in a basket on the left hand side of the screen. The monkeys take it in turn to lower down a barrel for you to try and throw your bananas into. This is quite tricky although far from impossible.
To get the banana into the barrel you must judge the correct angle and the power required. This is done via using the left and right button (or 4 and 6) to change the direction of your throw and then press and hold the OK or number 5 key to the required power level. Now I’m sure you’re far from wanting a game to be educational but if you are half decent at maths it’s quite easy to guess the right required combination to be successful.
There are 15 rounds where you have 10 barrels lowered to various heights and distances. This monotonous sequence is only changed by the occasional mini-game where you are charged with throwing your banana (what else would it be?) at static spinning coins to buy more bananas. To be honest, I don’t think even if you failed to hit a single coin it’d truly matter as your supply of bananas seems limitless.
The only difficult thing besides the aiming is the time that the monkeys lower the barrel for in each level. This means that your first few rounds are able to be done at quite a leisurely pace, however by the end levels you will need to be quite a sharp-shooter to get them in time. The time you have to complete the 10 barrel target per round is about four minutes, which is about twice as much than I needed to complete the level.
Ideally this game is really fun for the younger player and will prove very entertaining and challenging. For the more advanced gamer you will probably compete the game within the first attempt and only really have your best score to beat the next time round. Having said that however, the score can be posted globally so you can see how your score ranked. Speaking of score, this is comprised from the accuracy of your throw and the time left over from each round.
This is an entertaining package and despite its ease and simplicity, there’s quite a good amount of playability and as every round is increasingly more tricky you do get some excitement.
