SK8 Krazy

Is heaven a half-pipe to you? Then it’s time to put your skate-board on and practice flips, kicks, spins and other tricks in SK8 Krazy!
This simple game is quite a playable stunt game where you can gather speed and catch some air in a variety of six ways. The different tricks increase in difficulty so first you must gather sufficient speed. To do this, you must press keypad number 4 to go up the ramp and then release so you can go down again (picking up speed as you go), the more you do this the more speed you gather and bigger trick you can perform. Also dotted along the ramp are some Nitro Nuggets for you to pick up which will increase your pace even more and help you perform even better stunts.
The game is laid out as a scrolling backdrop with your skater in the middle who moves up and down and spins about when you do a trick. The game ends when either the time is up or when you’ve fallen off your board. Not to worry though, you still get to dust yourself down and do it all over again moments later when you restart your game.
The only visible indicator of the speed you’ve reached is provided by a speed bar at the top right of the screen which is filled up by the process explained above. To be honest the Nitro boosts are the only real way to get a decent speed going. If you don’t catch them on your journey you may as well rule out the possibility of getting a really high score.
Speaking of which, scores are offered by doing the different tricks (which are achieved by pressing 1, 2, 3, 7, 8 and 9. The basic ollie is achieved by pressing number 1, the tail hand flip is done by pressing number 2, the kick flip by number 3, the finger flip by pressing 7, the helipop by pressing 8 and the hip ollie by pressing 9. The scores are simple, simply add a zero after the number of the trick pressed e.g. the finger flip is worth 70 points.
After you’ve completed the course (when your time’s run out) you get the option to post your scores globally to see where you stand against other SK8 Krazy players worldwide.
The coolest thing about this game is the action replay screen located in the top left corner of the screen. This shows in slow motion the trick you just pulled off which is pretty fun to see.
In all honesty, this game is pretty entertaining but I would say that the overall appeal would possibly dwindle due to the repetitive nature of the game. For example the course doesn’t change at all and in truth the only challenging area of this game is trying to squeeze in as many big tricks as possible to score the most within the time limit.
This game offers great relief for anyone who has only a few minutes to spare or indeed is a skateboarding enthusiast, as then this will provide maximum appeal.
