Everyone who’s anyone must have played Snake at least once on their mobile phone. Although nowadays games seldom come complete on your mobile and even less likely will you find anything nearly as addictive and as satisfying as Snake to play – I am delighted to introduce 3-in-1 Snake Arcade.
Firstly I’m pleased because this is 3 games rolled into 1 (fantastic value), but each one will appeal for similar yet slightly different reasons. The classic Retro Snake gives you the familiar appearance of the green and black/dark green graphics that graced mobiles when Snake was initially launched. So for those who are looking to recapture their youth or simply find the straight forward and less glossy veneered version more appealing – this is the game for you.
However, if you like a slightly more polished and prettier version to look at and play, then you’ve the choice of picking Deluxe Snake. In this version you have a yellow and black baby adder which gobbles up mushrooms and grows as you are probably aware. However, the makers have made this a little more like Pac-Man as you gobble little dots that cover the entire screen. In the four corners you have some super dots which make your snake temporarily able to eat the mushrooms which cutely sprout up and change colour on the screen (depending on how long they’ve been there) without growing any bigger. This is great news in terms of being able to play as long as you dare to score as much as you can but also giving you the added task of gobbling up the dots as well as the mushrooms whilst avoiding the walls which change from level to level.
Lastly you have the option of playing Battle Snake, which is a cross between Snake and the bike scene from Tron (you know the one which has the trails behind the racer and should you touch that line you crash and burn). In this game you are not just on the hunt to gobble up all the yummy yellow blocks which appear randomly around the square but also must try and keep a watchful eye on the line your rival snake takes. This is by far one of the most fun and challenging twists to the Snake game due to the fact you have to try and outsmart a computer whilst gobbling all the food and growing your snake – the whole time trying to avoid being cut up or bumping into something.
In any case, there are three very good reasons to get this game and you’ll be probably quite old by the time you’ve decided to outgrow such a great game. So all that’s left for me to really say is trussssst in me or you’ll be sssssorry!

Positives
Retro gaming at its best – you’ll not find a better pack of Snake games elsewhere
Thoroughly enjoyable
Highly addictive
You can pick your speed (and therefore) difficulty setting from the start
Negatives
The game speed doesn’t change the more you play (e.g. each level or with the amount of food you consume) which happened in other Snake games
Music could be better
