If you enjoyed Super Monkey Ball Tip’n’Tilt first time round, then you’ll definitely love the second instalment.
Super Monkey Ball Tip’n’Tilt 2 is near enough identical to the first version but with a few extra differences which help make the game worthwhile adding to your collection. As before you have to use your skills to move your character (a monkey in a ball – of course) around the multi-platform levels with the aim to collect as many bananas as possible and end up landing at the finishing spot.
As in the previous instalment of the game, you must use your skills and timing to help move your character around the level. With various different platforms to master, it will certainly keep you glued to your seat. You will have to try and rock your monkey ball from platform to platform by carefully balancing it without tipping you off. Of course you can play it safe and go slowly but it’s worthwhile remembering you get more points for playing the game faster as it is a race against the clock.
You have a variety of locations both in and out of this world which will keep you entertained and interested throughout. Another new thing which is added to the game is the ability to fly your monkey ball around. To do this you must press the select button on your mobile and the ball opens up into two halves. This is something which is pretty useful to get you out of a jam and can be vital to the success in a number of levels.
Don’t think that gliding is as straight forward as a simple press of the key however, as it relies heavily on the number of bananas collected previously. If you haven’t collected many bananas you’ll only be able to fly for a matter of a second or two, however if you’ve collected most then you’ll be able to glide for much longer. As you can probably guess, if the glider returns to the ball before its time, you’ll plummet off the screen and have to restart the level again.
This puzzle and action game provides you with a great combo which will keep you smiling and guessing throughout. Although most levels aren’t terribly difficult to master, you can keep replaying the level to increase the speed and score. And as you’re marked not just on your speed but number of bananas collected, accuracy on landing on the centre spot as well as gliding and freefall – it will certainly keep you busy.
Overall then this is a nifty and pleasurable game which will keep your mind and thumbs occupied for quite a while. With so many levels to choose from and a variety of difficult obstacles to overcome, you’ll be entertained for quite a while. There’s also the added fun from not just playing the challenge mode, but trying your hand at the time attack or challenge mode (where you can play against 1-4 players). Better yet, you can unlock another mode by successfully completing areas of the game – giving you even more fun!
