Super Puzzle Bobble

Super Puzzle Bobble is a game that offers great entertainment and puzzle solving action by the bucket-load.

You may be already familiar with this cute and tricky brand of game, but if not, unlike games of similar connect-and-pop styles (e.g. Tetris, Quadropop, Lumines etc.) you must try and connect three (or more) of the same coloured bubbles together in order to burst them. The bubbles are suspended from the top of the screen and using your bubble-gun, you aim and launch the bubble to the desired location. You can either shoot directly or use the bounce off the walls to help get to the awkward bubbles. One thing to remember is as soon as the bubble touches another bubble it sticks into position. This can be used to your advantage, or indeed will lead to your undoing.

This simple yet extremely addictive game gives you the very best puzzle entertainment for your pocket. You have two types of game to play, Challenge Mode and Round Mode. In Challenge Mode you have to try and survive as long as you can and score as much as you can as you try to prevent the bubbles from reaching the bottom line as they descend. Armed with your trusty bubble-gun, you have to burst as many bubbles as you can, but importantly, rather than simply bursting the bubbles closest to you, if you can, you can burst the bubbles nearer the top – causing them to burst and the bubbles below to fall – giving you an even greater score.

In Round Mode, you must try to clear the level from all the bubbles by strategically bursting and dislodging them (as mentioned above). Instead of more bubbles descending, the ceiling does - making it a race against the clock in an attempt to clear the bubbles in sequence. As you would expect the first few levels aren’t too hard to beat, but soon it gets a lot harder to progress to the next stage. The good news is, although you may lose, you are able to start the level again as much as you like. The bad news is that you will lose your score up until that point.

In the end then, this game is exactly what the doctor ordered to really clear the air. For those of you who just want a simple and entertaining game to keep you busy for a few minutes then you’ll be hard pressed to find another title nearly this good. For the rest of you who want an hour or two of challenging fun, this game also will scratch that itch very nicely indeed.

This game doesn’t bother with frilly nonsense and long drawn out plots, instead it goes right to basics and keeps one simple thing clear in mind – FUN!
